Ryan Young, Senior Director of Federal Government Affairs, Independent Insurance Agents & Brokers of America, Inc. (IIABA or the Big “I”), joined the national association in March 2010 after more than seven years of experience on Capitol Hill. He previously served as legislative director to Rep. Kenny Marchant (R-Texas) where his numerous legislative responsibilities included Financial Services Committee issues such as insurance. He also held various positions on the House Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure during the chairmanship of Rep. Don Young (R-Alaska). At the Big “I”, he is part of a bipartisan lobbying team, serving primarily as a liaison to Republican Congressional offices. A native of Denver, N.C., Young earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in economics from the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill. He resides in Alexandria, Va. with his wife and son.
