Gunnar Kephart’s insurance experience started in 1982 when he joined the family’s agency in San Antonio as a partner. From there, he was a founding principal in a cluster agency while consulting with other agents in Mergers and Acquisitions. Relocating to the DFW Texas area, he produced commercial lines business for a national broker and became the Commercial Lines manager. Moving to a construction specialty agency, he focused on middle-market and loss-sensitive construction accounts and created and administered a very successful multi-year Contractor Controlled insurance program.
In 2011, he became a member of the IIAT staff, initially as a Professional Liability marketer, then developing into a broader role, alongside fellow E&O team members, advocating for the E&O risk management needs of IIAT members with brokers, carriers and claims managers. He is completely committed to IIAT’s values of Integrity, Service Excellence and Continuous improvement.
Gunnar’s varied experience in agency ownership, management and producer roles brings a practitioner’s insight into the world of professional liability risk management for independent agencies.
He considers it a privilege to serve his fellow agents by sharing with them his knowledge and practical approach to meet their Professional Liability risk management needs.
